What's up with the name?

What’s up with the name “Inch by Inch Willows?”

Have you ever felt overwhelmed with the very thought of doing something new, something you have no experience whatsoever doing? Yeah? Me too! And yet the very thought of doing nothing new with my life-ever, is overwhelmingly depressing. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest.

So, trying something new but moving along inch by inch makes a new thing more palatable, at least for me. I love challenges and have taken on quite a few, but the challenge of growing a crop, starting a business, and learning the language of social media marketing is too much for one person, at least for this person. But I want to do it, so I take on one task a day - make one inch of progress each day. Take today for example: I participated in a webinar to learn about marketing through social media and here I am writing a quick post. This would be considered an educational post since I am explaining my business’s name, or I guess you could call it entertaining if my silliness makes you laugh.

What is it that you want to try but feel overwhelmed when you think about it? I challenge you to proceed even if it is ever so slowly, even if it is inch by inch.

(Update since I first wrote this: I am amazed at how much I have learned and how many people I have met in the floral and basketry fields since I originally wrote and published this post last year on my first website that I created with a website design company. Inch by inch I have grown into my chosen line of work. For example, this website was made by me, using Wix, but what was once seemingly insurmountable has now been accomplished just by chipping away at the challenge. Again, I urge you to start movement towards the worthwhile goal you may have been putting off.)
